The Haitian Student Organization is hosting a Toy Drive for needy children in Haiti. If you would like to donate a toy, please drop your donation at DM 488C.Donations will be accepted until the end of November.
While Dorian spared South Florida, its impact is being felt by many in our own community, including some of our students. We have received requests for help from a number of our Bahamian students, as well as a few members of the faculty and staff. The immediate requests for assistance amount is approximately $120,000 with additional requests expected for the spring semester. If you wish to make a donation, please reach out to the FIU Strong fund, Next Horizon campaign, or FIU food pantries.
We are happy to announce the fourth annual AFTJ Bento Contest. The traditional dietary cultures of the Japanese (what we call Washoku in Japanese) was inscribed in 2013 on the UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The purpose of this bento contest is to celebrate Japan’s cool food culture. The deadline for submission is 5pm (EST) on Monday, Nov. 11th. Please see the flyer for more information.
The FIU Center for International Business Education and Research present the 2019 Languages for Business Conference which provides a greater understanding in local K-12 school curriculum, to bolster the synergy between International Business and Lesser-Taught Languages. The conference will take place Nov. 4, 2019 from 8am - 4pm in CBC 233.
