Two Chinese language students have been awarded U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) to study critical languages during the summer of 2016.

José A. Villar Portela, Spanish doctoral student, has been awarded the 2016-21017 Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship in support of his research project, “New Men, New Nations, New Selves: Homonationalist Assimilation and Queer Practices of Freedom in Contemporary Cuban Cultural Production."
