This Presentation will give an overview of the status of Spanish in the U.S., within the Capacity-Opportunity-Desire Framework (LoBianco, 2008), Focusing on language maintenance, and argues that Latino youth's resilience represents an enormously promising, yet untapped, resource for bringing about greater linguistic vitality.
