The French Honor Society and Le Cercle Francais are students organizations within the French Studies Program. They work together in most of the activities which include visits to art galleries, docent-led tours of museums in French, visits to French restaurants and bakeries, activities with the Alliance Francaise of Miami, film festivals, a discussion group on current affairs, a reading group, conferences by distinguished francophone lecturers, community work, leadership and professional development projects, philantropic activities, and more.
French Honor Society
Kappa Psi is FIU chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national French Honor Society whose purpose is to promote the French language and culture. Membership is restricted to students who have completed at least one upper-division French class with a B or higher and whose overall GPA is 3.0 or higher. A fee of $35 is due at time of induction and membership is for life. Speaking French is mandatory.
Le Cercle Français
Le Cercle Français is a student organization where students of French have the opportunity to meet other students interested in the French language and culture. LCF has been recognized by CSO as OUTSTANDING OVERALL ORGANIZATION of 2011-2012.
Membership to this organization is free of charge and open to all. Speaking French is not mandatory.
