National Hurricane Center Recognizes FIU Students' Translation Work

"The National Hurricane Center has written to the Department of Modern Languages to thank them for their collaboration and for the translation work taken on by graduate and undergraduate students. Students in the Translation and Interpretation Program, under the guidance of Dr. Erik Camayd-Freixas and PhD candidate Marilyn Zeledón, assisted in translating much of the extensive contents of the NHC’s life-saving website. This is one example of the continued and critical partnership between the NHC and FIU, and shows how FIU's students of Translation and Interpretation are called on to serve their community.

Thank you NHC for the opportunity!
