Svetlana Tytuina, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Modern Languages, has been appointed to the Modern Language Association (MLA) Committee on the Status of Graduate Students in the Profession.
Doctoral candidate, Svetlana Tyutina, awarded “Premio Ignacio R. M. Galbis” (2013)
The “Premio Ignacio R. M. Galbis” is an award granted once a year for an outstanding work published in El Cid, the national journal of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society (Sigma Delta Pi Chapter). Svetlana Tyutina's winning article is entitled "La visión del mestizaje en la segunda mitad del siglo XX: La reivindicación femenina y masculina de la Malinche".

Alfredo Parejo was recently awarded the Dissertation Year Fellowship and Sara Gonzalez was awarded the Doctoral Evidence Acquisition (DEA) Fellowship. Mr. Parejo’s fellowship will support two semesters of fieldwork and Ms. Gonzalez’s will support one semester of fieldwork. Congratulations!
