José A. Villar Portela receives the Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship

José A. Villar Portela, Spanish doctoral student, has been awarded the 2016-21017 Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship in support of his research project, “New Men, New Nations, New Selves: Homonationalist Assimilation and Queer Practices of Freedom in Contemporary Cuban Cultural Production.” The Goizueta Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program provides assistance to doctoral students who wish to use the research resources available in the University of Miami Cuban Heritage Collection (CHC) in support of dissertation research. The Graduate Fellowship is the most competitive of all the awards given by the Goizueta Foundation, providing up to $9,000 to support three months of research at the CHC.
