Dr. Andrea Fanta Awarded NEH $150,000 Grant

The NEH has awarded $150,000 to the two-year collaborative project by Julio Capó (Program Director), Andrea Fanta and Rebecca Friedman (Project Co-Directors). The grant, Miami Studies: Building a New Interdisciplinary Public Humanities Program, will help FIU build new curriculum through several new courses and a series of mini-courses or “badges” that are critically integrated to FIU’s new Micro-Credentials Initiative, housed within the Division of Academic & Student Affairs. This grant will make a sustained program centered on exploring the history, literature, culture, art, politics, and humanistic experience of the diverse people residing in the Greater Miami area, a minority-majority region whose demographics are mirrored in the student population at FIU.
