Study Abroad

Studying abroad opens countless opportunities for personal and professional growth. It allows you to expand your worldview and enhance your career opportunities by gaining international experience. You can learn another language, experience another culture first-hand, and make new friends from around the world.

While living in a new environment, you naturally develop your communication, team-building, and adaptability skills, qualities that employers highly value. The experience itself is invaluable, helping you discover new things about your own culture while boosting your confidence and independence.

  • Exploring Korean Language Through Culture

Through the program Exploring Korean Language Through Culture, FIU students have a wonderful opportunity to study Korean in the context of its native South Korean culture. As students learn and use Korean on a daily basis, the course strikes a balance between classroom instruction, real-world language application, and travel. As we experience the culture, shop, take public transit, move through the city's streets, and engage with locals, participants will put their knowledge of Korean into practice. Along with Korean university students, FIU students will participate in an international summer study program at a major Korean university to study Korean and gain cultural experience. In addition to day trips to a number of other cities and towns, Seoul serves as the main hub for the experience. Seoul, a mega city with over 10 million residents, is South Korea's economic, cultural, and political center.  You will be able to experience life in this great metropolis firsthand through this experience.
