Taiwan Language and Culture Immersion 2027

Embark on a transformative four-week summer adventure in Taiwan! Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Chinese language while discovering the rich culture, history, and stunning landscapes of this dynamic island. Whether you are a beginner or looking to strengthen your speaking skills, you’ll receive high quality lessons from experienced teachers. Beyond the classroom, explore Taiwan’s serene temples, breathtaking mountain ranges, vibrant night markets, and mouthwatering cuisine. Come experience local traditions, meet inspiring people, and create lasting memories in one of the most welcoming places in Asia!


LOCATION DESCRIPTION

Located in Taipei’s vibrant yet relaxed Dazhi neighborhood, Shih Chien University combines modern design, cultural immersion, and easy city access. Just a five-minute walk from the metro station, the campus sits within walking distance to riverside parks and mountain views, offering a balance of nature and urban energy. Nearby, you’ll find Taipei’s must-sees: the National Palace Museum, lively Shilin Night Market, and the Miramar Entertainment Park with its famous Ferris wheel. With a safe, welcoming community, dynamic student life, and endless cultural experiences, Shih Chien University offers an inspiring and unforgettable study abroad experience.


HOUSING & DINING

Students will stay in a hotel where a light breakfast and refreshments will be provided at no additional cost. Two students of the same gender will share a double-occupancy room.

Dining options include the school cafeteria, which serves a variety of balanced and nutritious dishes for lunch. Beyond campus, the surrounding neighborhood is packed with convenient stores and restaurants serving everything from delicious Taiwanese street food to flavors from across Asia.

COURSES & CREDITS

Students register for a total of 6 credits:

  • CHI 3440 - Business Chinese (3 credits)
  • CHI 3955 - Foreign Study: Language and Culture (3 credits)

PROGRAM COST

The cost of the four-week program is $3,500.  The program cost includes international health insurance, airport pick-up, one-month metro pass, hotel accommodation, daily Chinese classes, language partner exchanges, cultural lessons, two full-day excursions, four half-day tours, entrance tickets to attractions, and farewell banquet.

The program cost does not include the non-refundable Study Abroad Fee ($195), FIU tuition for six academic credits, meals, and travel between the US and Taiwan.
