SPN 2340

SPN 2340 has a special emphasis on learning about cultural topics relevant to different Latin American countries and Latinos in the US. Linguistically, the focus of SPN 2340 is to expand students’ bilingual abilities by working on their speaking, writing, listening, and reading in Spanish in a confidence-building environment. The different activities and components of the class will help students to achieve greater flexibility in their abilities in the language. Grammar and/or spelling issues are also reviewed to support students’ language development. This course counts toward the Global Learning (GL) graduation requirement.

SPN 3343

SPN 3343 offers the opportunity to continue perfecting students’ writing abilities for the professional and academic use through the study of political, educational, cultural, sociolinguistic, and literary topics related with Hispanics and Spanish in the United States. Linguistically, the focus of SPN 3343 is to expose students to the writing process, as well as to give them the opportunity to develop their speech through debates, speeches, formal presentations, etc. in a confidence-building environment. This course counts toward the Global Learning (GL) graduation requirement.
